Congress MP’s Proposal to Shift Kerala Capital to Kochi Rejected by Everyone Including Party

Congress MP Hibi Eden's Proposal to shift Kerala's state capital from Thiruvananthapuram to Kochi has been widely criticized, including by his own party. The ruling CPI(M) in Kerala rejected the proposal and called it "immature" and politically motivated. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor also rejected the proposal as "illogical." Other Congress party members and CPI(M) leaders criticized Eden's move, stating that Thiruvananthapuram has the necessary government departments and facilities to remain the state capital. Eden has not yet responded to the criticism. Members of the BJP's youth wing protested against Eden's decision and burned his effigy.
