Suspected North Korean hackers are posing as journalists in phishing attacks targeting experts on North Korea issues, according to emails obtained by Radio Free Asia (RFA). The 12 suspicious emails were sent to RFA's Korean Service by the experts who received them. While RFA was unable to confirm the identity of the senders or their connection to the North Korean government, the emails strongly suggest phishing attempts to gain access to intelligence or install malware. The hackers posed as reporters for organizations such as Kyodo News, RFA, and Voice of America, asking experts to answer questions or click on malicious links.
