180 arrested as violent protests hit France over police killing of teen

Almost 200 people were arrested in France as violent protests erupted over the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old by Police. The protests involved attacks on police stations, town halls, schools, and public transport. French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin reported that 170 officers were injured and vowed to restore "justice, calm, and freedom." The police chief in Nanterre said the use of a weapon in the incident was not justified, and the officer involved is in custody. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the teen's refusal to comply with the police's order to stop his vehicle.
