Food Beyond the Reach for Millions in Horn of Africa

Three years of drought in the Horn of Africa have left over 23 million people facing severe hunger, with limited humanitarian resources being stretched further by conflict in Sudan. The region has also experienced flash floods and high Food prices, pushing food beyond the reach of millions. The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has provided nutritional therapy and fortified cereals to help those in need, but funding shortfalls are forcing reductions in assistance. The WFP urgently needs $810 million over the next six months to continue life-saving assistance and invest in long-term resilience in the region.
