Gustav Klimt's final portrait, Lady With A Fan, has sold for a record £85.3m ($108.7m) at a London auction, becoming the most valuable work of art sold at auction in Europe. The painting, completed in 1917, is the last portrait painted by Austrian artist Klimt, who died unexpectedly in 1918 at the age of 55. Lady With A Fan was sold to a collector from Hong Kong after 10 minutes of bidding between four art lovers. Sotheby's said the work, which was last sold in 1994 for £7.8m, is an "absolute testament to Klimt's artistic genius".
