Amazon subsidiary Zoox has announced that it has started testing its autonomous robotaxis on public roads in Las Vegas. This marks the first time a driverless vehicle without pedals or a steering wheel has operated on public roads in Nevada. The initial route is a one-mile loop around the neighborhood where Zoox's Las Vegas facilities are located. The robotaxis can transport four people at speeds of up to 35 mph and will be available to Zoox employees during workday hours. The company plans to expand its testing in the coming months.
