Amazon plans to Invest $15 billion in India by 2030, more than doubling its current investment in the country. The majority of the new capital is likely to be allocated for AWS expansion in India. Walmart, Amazon's global rival, has also invested over $2.5 billion in India this year. Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that the company will open a fintech operation centre in the state of Gujarat. Other high-profile commitments made during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the US include Micron's investment of up to $825 million and Applied Materials' pledge to invest $400 million over four years in a new engineering centre in India.
