French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged to "support Saudi Arabia in strengthening its defence capabilities" and to back the kingdom's "ambitious Vision 2030". The comments came after a meeting in Paris last week with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, who took part in the Paris Air Show and Macron’s two-day international Summit for a New Global Financing Pact, in which more than 50 world leaders participated. The meeting included bilateral talks on Lebanon’s crisis, investment in civil, defence and aerospace, support for Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Expo 2030 bid and MBS’s participation in a summit on helping developing countries.
