Archaeologists from the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) are preparing to raise a 3,000-year-old, hand-sewn boat from the Bay of Zambratija in the Mediterranean. The vessel, believed to be the oldest of its kind found in the region, has a 23-foot section in pristine condition. Scientists will study the boat to identify the fibres used for sewing and study the techniques used for shaping the wood. The vessel will be transported to the Archaeological Museum of Istria where it will be desalinated and reconstructed in 3D.
