Singapore is not currently considering regulating AI, according to Lee Wan Sie, director for trusted AI and data at the country's Infocomm Media Development Authority. Instead, the Singaporean government is promoting responsible use of the technology, and calling on companies to use its AI Verify toolkit for conducting technical tests on their AI models. The toolkit was launched in 2022, with IBM and Singapore Airlines among the early adopters. The government is also working with industry, research organisations and other governments to learn more about the AI sector before deciding whether to introduce regulations, Lee said.
