Spargo was inspired after reading about the high levels of debt owed by pupils at local schools, and raised the funds in just two weeks through donations from churchgoers. The sum will pay off lunch debts for the current academic year, as well as the next. Spargo aims to lobby the North Carolina state legislature to offer further assistance.
