At least 41 people, including 38 students, were killed in an attack by suspected rebels on a secondary school near the Ugandan border with Congo. The attack, carried out by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), involved about five attackers who burned a dormitory and hacked and shot students. Six people were also abducted. Ugandan troops are pursuing the attackers into Congo's Virunga National Park to rescue those abducted. The ADF has been accused of launching many attacks in recent years, targeting civilians, in remote parts of eastern Congo and has established ties with the Islamic State group.
