Kazakhstan won their first Gold medal at the World Judo Tour in Astana, with Magzhan Shamshadin taking the -60kg category at the tournament, which was packed full of passionate judo fans. Italy's Assunta Scutto won her second Grand Slam gold, whilst Odette Giuffrida doubled up for Italy as she took their second gold of the tournament in the -52kg category. Spain's David García Torne took a second WJT title in as many tournaments in the -66kg category, whilst France's Sarah Leonie Cysique won her first ever World Judo Tour gold medal in the -57kg category.
