Valdo Calocane, the Suspect in a knife rampage in Nottingham that killed three people including two undergraduates, is from a hard-working, devoutly Christian Family and was a former student at the same university. Calocane's parents are originally from Guinea-Bissau in West Africa and moved to Haverfordwest in Wales upon arriving in the UK in 2007. His younger brother studied computer science at Cambridge University and his sister is still in school. Calocane graduated from the University of Nottingham last summer with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was arrested on Tuesday morning in Nottingham city centre.
