South Africa’s Ramaphosa headed to Ukraine, Russia for peace mission

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has travelled to Poland before heading to Ukraine and Russia as part of the African Peace Mission. The mission aims to peacefully resolve the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Ramaphosa will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kiev on Friday, before heading to St Petersburg on Saturday to engage with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The mission will also comprise leaders from Zambia, Senegal and the Comoros. Congo Brazzaville and Egypt will send representatives, but Uganda's president Yoweri Museveni will not attend due to illness.
