Bassist Marcus Miller celebrates his 64th birthday today. Miller has collaborated with Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, and Victor Wooten and has played bass on over 500 recordings. He has also scored or helped score around 2 dozen films and has been awarded a lifetime achievement award, Grammy, and was appointed a UNESCO Artist for Peace. Today also marks the 867th anniversary of the founding of Munich and the 57th anniversary of the Vatican abolishing its list of prohibited books. Additionally, Ringo Starr's boyhood home was saved from demolition 11 years ago, and Superman first appeared in Action Comics #1 in 1938.
