Finance Minister Katy Gallagher has denied misleading parliament regarding her prior knowledge of rape allegations against Brittany Higgins. Gallagher acknowledged that she knew about the allegations before they became public, but stated that she had not misled parliament when she told an estimates committee three years ago that “no one had any knowledge” of the matter. Former Prime Minister Scott Morrison also denied misleading parliament after being accused of doing so by Reynolds’ former chief of staff, Fiona Brown. Higgins claimed she was raped by then-Liberal staffer Bruce Lehrmann, who has always maintained his innocence.
