Māori, Moriori remains being returned to New Zealand from Germany

Over 100 Māori and Moriori Remains, alongside other taonga, are being returned to New Zealand from seven German institutions. The repatriation reflects the strong ties between Germany and New Zealand, and Germany was one of the first countries to begin the repatriation of Māori and Moriori ancestral remains. A private pōwhiri will be held to mark their return.
