The Anglican St Mary Redcliffe church in Bristol will replace a window featuring slave trader Edward Colston with a stained glass picture of Jesus in a migrant boat. The decision was made to remove the original Colston window two years ago after his statue was toppled. The church held a competition for new designs and the replacement has now been approved by the Consistory Court of the Diocese of Bristol. The new windows show Jesus in a number of situations, including as a child refugee and among a diverse group of neighbours. The artist, Ealish Swift, is a Bristol-based junior doctor.
