A survey of 2,000 US retirees conducted by OnePoll on behalf of ClearMatch Medicare, part of HealthPlanOne, has found that Americans are Retiring Earlier than they had expected, with retirees on average leaving work at 61.5 years old, beating the median point by almost two years. The study also revealed that 32% would have retired earlier if given the chance, while 51% had difficulty accepting the changes to their health as they age. Almost half admitted they had not saved enough for retirement, while 57% believed Social Security would cover their retirement.
