The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs has extended the deployment of 114 companies of central armed police forces (CAPFs) in Manipur until 30 June, after three civilians were killed and two injured in violence in the state. The deployment, which is expected to be further extended, includes 52 companies of CRPF, 10 Rapid Action Force, 43 BSF companies, four of ITBP and five of SSB. The forces are making arrangements to stay in the state for a longer period and the Union Home Ministry has sent an additional 30 companies to Manipur.
