Rain, Strong Winds Bring Mercury Down in Delhi, Other Parts of India; No Heatwave for Next 5 Days

Rain showers, thunderstorms, and strong winds have hit parts of India, including the national capital, Delhi, and are expected to continue for the next two to three days. The India Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall and overcast weather in Delhi until 30 May, and also confirmed that there will be no heatwave in the region for the next five days. Heavy rainfall is also expected in other regions of India, including Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura, Sikkim, Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand. The IMD has warned of traffic congestion and slippery roads due to the rain.
