A 3D-Printed Rocket Will Soon Be Launched Into Space

Relativity Space, a private space tech firm, has become the first entity to launch a 3D-printed Rocket into space. The reusable Terran 1 is considered the largest 3D-printed object ever created and was launched from Cape Canaveral on 8 March. The rocket is made from 85% printed material, but future vessels will be made from 95%, including additive-manufactured boosters. The Terran 1 is powered by liquid oxygen propellant and is designed to make small deliveries into space with cost reductions from reusability and 3D-printing. The rocket stands 110ft tall and can carry up to 2,756 pounds into space.
