Olatunji Oboi Reed, the founding president and CEO of the Equiticity Racial Equity movement, shared his story on Grist's Temperature Check podcast. After taking a leave of absence from his corporate job due to depression, Reed began cycling and eventually found a passion for promoting racial equity. He grew up on the South Side of Chicago and loved riding bikes as a child. Reed struggled with depression in high school and didn't have coping strategies. He eventually worked in community relations in the corporate sector before finding his true calling in promoting racial equity.
