Portland woman accused of breaking toddler’s wrist, putting popsicle stick in her eye

Shanairian Perkins, a 19-year-old woman from Portland, has been charged with first-degree assault, criminal mistreatment, and endangering another person after allegedly injuring her fiancée’s 2-year-old daughter. The child was found with bruises, blood in her eye, and other injuries on her body. Perkins initially claimed the injuries were caused by a fountain and heat rash, but later admitted to breaking the child’s wrist and poking her in the eye with a popsicle stick. She is being held without bail in Multnomah County Jail.
