Fintech firm Wise’s shares fall after CFO resigns; CEO to go on leave

Shares of British Fintech Firm Wise fell over 4% after the company announced that its CFO, Matt Briers, would be leaving next year, with a comprehensive search for a new CFO to begin immediately. CEO Kristo Kaarman will also be taking paternity leave from September to December, with CTO Harsh Sinha stepping up as interim CEO. Briers will step down in March 2024 to make a full recovery from a cycling accident that occurred last year. Wise went public in 2021 in a rare direct listing and has millions of users.
