Kerala: Train Skips Station, Reverses Almost 1 Km to Pick Waiting Passengers

A train in Kerala, India skipped a scheduled stop at Cheriyanad station, but reversed almost 1 km to pick up waiting passengers. The incident occurred on Monday morning when the Venad Express from Thiruvananthapuram moved past the station, leaving passengers stranded. A rail official blamed the lack of signal at the station, which is classified as a ‘D grade station’. No passengers were inconvenienced, and the drivers made up for the eight-minute delay later in the journey. The loco pilots will be asked for an explanation following the incident.
