Robert Mbatha Mackenzie, brother of cult leader Paul Nthenge Mackenzie, says that he knew him as a good man. Mackenzie was arrested in February 2019 on charges of ordering his followers to starve to death "to meet Jesus". In total, 133 people have been confirmed dead, many of them children, after investigators said that they had unearthed another 21 bodies from the cult's forest site.
