Manipur Violence: Group Claims Meitei Community Houses Set Ablaze by ‘Militants’ in Churachandpur, Moreh

In May 3, 2019, sectarian violence broke out in Manipur between the Meitei community and the Kuki tribe. The People's Alliance for Peace and Progress (PAP) claims that 5,000 Meiteis have become homeless and that all of their houses were burned down in the violence. In Moreh town, almost every Meitei house was burned down, and Meiteis are taking refuge in Myanmar and in an Assam Rifles camp.
