Italy’s foreign minister cancels Paris trip over ‘unacceptable’ criticism of Rome’s migration policy

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has cancelled his trip to Paris after a French minister said Premier Giorgia Meloni “is incapable of resolving the migration problems for which she was elected.” The French Foreign Ministry backed off from Darmanin’s remarks, saying that French-Italy ties are “founded on mutual respect, between our two countries and between our leaders.”
