William Kentridge's play, "The Head and the Load", is set to premier at the Joburg Theatre in Johannesburg on April 21. The production is based on African porters who, during World War I, hauled supplies for European forces. One million African soldiers are thought to have taken part in the conflict, and 150,000 of them died. The show is aimed at "fulfilling a void for 'those who never made it back home,'" and includes a song written by one of the show's co-composers, Thuthuka Sibisi.
