The London transport authority, Transport for London (TfL), is considering scrapping day Travelcards in order to fill a £740 million funding gap. This would increase rail fares for commuters from the Home Counties, and those travelling into London from areas just outside the city would now have to pay separately for the trains into the capital and travel while in the city. There are also plans to scrap other ticket types, including family day travelcards, group day travelcards, and weekend travelcards. Those looking to buy child day travelcards for customers travelling outside of London will now have to apply in advance for a special card.
