The 23-year-old man facing a murder charge for allegedly shooting and killing his girlfriend when she told him she did not want to have a child with him is Adam Byrd. Byrd is also being charged with aggravated robbery for allegedly robbing a store on April 1. According to an affidavit cited by KSAT-TV, Alvarez was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds when police found her on the 1000 block of Capitol Avenue on April 6. A witness who was with Alvarez reportedly told police that Alvarez used the witness’ phone to speak with Byrd the night of April 5. The witness reportedly dropped Alvarez off sometime between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Capitol Avenue near Fulton Avenue. Byrd was wanted by police relating to the aggravated robbery charge, and the witness helped positively identify him.
