At the Isle of Wight Council's 1 Leisure The Heights health spa, concerns have been raised about the chemical balance in the spa's water after users added fizzy bath items to the jacuzzi, while problems were also caused by people wearing Deep Heat, Fake Tan and make-up. To try and address the issue, the council has replaced 400kg of sand used in the filtration system and 35,000 gallons of water to clean the systems and refill the spa. The spa has now reopened, but users are advised to take a warm shower before using the spa and to avoid introducing foreign substances into the water.
