Scientists at Argonne National Laboratory and the Illinois Institute of Technology have created a solid-state Battery that could be used to vastly expand the range of EVs, unlocking the ability to use batteries on short-haul aircraft and heavy trucks. However, the battery is still in the early stages of development and is likely a decade or more away from hitting the market.
