Arkansas governor signs bill requiring parental permission for social media

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has approved legislation Requiring Parental Permission for social media use by minors. The new law will apply to new social media accounts created starting in September, and social media companies that knowingly violate the requirement could face a $2,500 fine. The law also prohibits third party vendors from retaining identifying information of users after they've been granted access to the social media site.
