Britain’s ‘implausible’ transgender population may be result of confusing census question

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is investigating if its census data on England and Wales' trans Population is flawed. The data, which shows that around 0.5% of the population is trans, is not plausible according to a professor, who claims that the question posed, "Is the gender you identify with the same as your sex registered at birth?" may have confused non-native English speakers.
