More than 4,000 people flee into Thailand after fighting in Kayin state intensifies

More than 4,000 people have fled into Thailand from Myanmar's Kayin State due to intensified fighting between forces loyal to the military junta and those against it. The refugees are staying on goat and cattle farms around Mae Sot, which is not adequate for their needs and is dealing with hot weather. Thai authorities are helping the refugees to Flee and are providing them with shelter in five locations. There are concerns that the refugees may be deported prematurely.
