Moroccan villagers keep communal store tradition alive

Morocco's collective granaries, known as agadir, are still in use centuries after they were built. The granaries are located primarily across central and southern Morocco, in caves or on cliff sides, on hilltops and in valleys. The granaries are a guarantee of security, especially in the event of an "insiba" (rebellion of local tribes against the central government).
