The Indian government has warned streaming services that they will not tolerate abusive language in movies and TV shows. The government is receiving a growing number of complaints about increasing obscene and abusive content on these platforms. The IT Rules, 2021 were supposed to usher in "self-regulation", but they handed over direct ministerial power for censorship over OTTs.
