Vietnamese authorities bar relatives, lawyers from meeting detained Facebooker

A 60-year-old Facebook user is under investigation in Vietnam for posts that are said to have violated a vaguely worded law. His younger sister claims guards at the detention center have refused to let them see him, although they agreed to let them deposit money for him to buy food and other necessities. Phil Robertson, deputy director for Human Rights Watch's Asia division, said in an email that every time the authorities commit a clear rights violation, it undermines Hanoi's claims to be providing free and fair trials to those it prosecutes in court.
