The French energy giant TotalEnergies is planning to build an oilfield and pipeline project in Uganda and Tanzania which will require 5,551 people to be relocated. Most of those who will have to be relocated have already agreed to receive compensation, but some are unhappy with the way the land acquisition was settled. The drilling is expected to go ahead after a French court on Tuesday dismissed a case brought by NGOs against the company.
