Police are searching for the Baby of Constance Marten, 35, and her boyfriend Mark Gordon, 48. They were last seen in Newhaven on Jan 8 and were arrested on Monday evening after a member of the public saw them using a bank card at a cash machine. The couple had been living off the grid and using a slush fund of money to evade detection, but their cash ran out and they were forced to take increasingly desperate measures to get provisions. Their bank was being monitored by police and a location for their whereabouts was established when they were arrested near a Mulberrys convenience store in Sussex. Their baby was not with them and it is not clear whether the cash withdrawal was the first time they had used their bank card or activated a police alert. The couple bought supplies at a nearby shop but did not include anything for a baby. The food bank where they had been getting supplies said they did not take any details. The couple have refused to tell police where their baby is
