FG Set To Pay N-Power Beneficiaries’ Eight-Month Outstanding Allowances

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has announced the recovery of funds held by a consultant for several months, which has led to the resolution of N-Power beneficiary payment delays.

VerseNews reports that N-Power’s National Program Manager, Mr. Akindele Egbuwalo, made this known in a statement after a meeting with representatives of the N-Power beneficiaries.

He assured the beneficiaries that they would soon receive payment for the eight months they were owed.

“The good news is that the funds have been recovered and you will be getting your money soon. Payment for N-Power Beneficiaries Batch C who have been owed for eight months will begin soon,” Mr. Akindele said

The recovery of these funds is part of the ministry’s efforts to address irregularities within the N-Power program and other social investment initiatives.

“These irregularities have made the common man to lose faith in the ability of Government to provide social safety cover for its population but Dr Betta Edu is engaging all necessary steps to resolve these issues and deliver the Renewed Hope Mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Nigerians

“Many irregularities which hitherto had sabotaged the smooth implementation of the Program are being addressed,” he added.

“It would be recalled that on assumption of duty it was noted that many beneficiaries did not receive payment for their monthly allowances while monies were been held up by the consultant managing the enrollment and payment system whose contract had long expired.”

The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, has been actively working to resolve these issues and restore faith in the government’s ability to provide social safety coverage to its citizens.

The recovery of funds from consultants, whose contracts had expired, was a crucial step in addressing payment delays.

The National Program Manager emphasized that these efforts are part of the commitment to create a solid foundation for the expansion of the Renewed Hope N-POWER program, which aims to reach 5 million young Nigerians.

He urged patience from the beneficiaries and assured that the restructuring is in their best interest and will lead to the program’s expansion to accommodate more young people, aligning with President Tinubu’s commitment to eradicating poverty.
