EPL: Man City Snatch Three Points To Go Top After Rodri’s Late Goal

Manchester City are back to the top of the log after beating Sheffield United 2-1 in Sunday’s English Premier League (EPL) fixtures.

It was a barren draw in the first 45 minutes after Erling Haaland failed to convert a penalty to a goal which was awarded to them after John Egan’s hand ball in the 35th minute.

City could not utilise most of their chances before going to the break.

The deadlock was broken after the break in the 63rd minute when Haaland’s header from the right side of the six yard box to the bottom right corner after an assist from Jack Grealish to put City in the lead making it 1-0.

It was a concerted effort about five minutes to the final whistle when Sheffield’s Jayden Bogle right footed shot from the right side of the box headed straight to the bottom left corner to level the scoreline, 1-1.

City had few seconds to find a winning formula that was when Rodri found the back of the net after an assist from Phil Foden to make it 2-1 at the Bramall Lane.

City’s victory on Sunday see them securing nine points after three games are top leading West Ham United with two points gaps.
