On January 27th, my heart stopped and I had a Court hearing scheduled for January 30th. As you can probably imagine, I was still on life support on the day of the court hearing. Due to the medical emergency, I was unable to contact anyone until February 15th when I finally regained consciousness and was able to write to my nurses, asking them to call my attorney. At that time, my attorney was able to address the warrant and reschedule the court date.

I remained in the hospital until about a week and a half ago. During my hospital stay, I had a case manager who stayed in touch with my lawyer and would send him the necessary documentation whenever the District Attorney requested proof. Now that I'm back home, I have another court date approaching in about a week. My lawyer has asked me to obtain a Letter from my doctor stating my prognosis and providing proof that I am unable to work.

However, when I asked my doctor for this letter, they informed me that they couldn't provide it for two reasons. The first reason is that it would be a violation of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), and the second reason is that they don't issue disability letters. The second reason is confusing to me. I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can obtain this kind of documentation. I've been calling my lawyer every day this week, but he hasn't been answering, so I've been leaving messages and speaking with his assistant. This situation is causing me a lot of stress and anxiety
