A mob burns houses and holds municipal authorities in Altamirano, Chiapas

TUXTLA GUTIÉRREZ, Chis. In the first minutes of this Saturday, a mob of men belonging to the ejidal authorities of Altamirano burned several houses, vehicles, stores and other property of members of the Municipal Council, as well as their closest collaborators in the city council, followers and sympathizers.

Within the framework of the dispute for control of municipal political power, dozens of men went street by street and began to evict and burn down the houses of those they consider their political adversaries.

The houses that burned are located in Barrio Campo, Barrio Guadalupe, Barrio Casitas, Barrio Panteón, Barrio Centro, Barrio Candelaria and others.

The council authorities reported the plagiarism and retention of Araón Perez Lorenzo, Gerardo Daniel Millán Cruz, María Margarita Guzmán García, Marcos Sánchez López, José Luis Monzón Gómez, Braulio Gómez Gómez, Pedro Pablo Hernández Sántiz, María de la Luz Cantoral Méndez, Adolfo Moreno , Juan Diego Hernández García, Juan Carlos Hernández López, Virginia Rodas Jiménez, Enrique Hernández García, Avisaí Álvarez Jiménez, Matilde Gómez Sánchez, Elena Gómez Sánchez, Consuelo Jiménez Luna, Oscar López Jiménez, Guadalupe Sántiz López and María de Jesús López Jiménez

The leaders of the authorities were identified as Gaspar Sántiz Jiménez, Rogelio Hernández Gómez, Enrique Hernández Gómez, Domingo Méndez Sántiz, Jacinto Méndez Sántiz, Caralampio Santiz López, Feliciano Santiz López, Amauri Ortega Castellanos, Rosalinda Navarro Castellanos and Humberto Castellanos.

They maintain a dispute with the members of the Altamirano Municipal Council made up of María García López, the council president; Fernando Gabriel Montoya Oseguera, trustee councilor; Mayra Teresa Pérez López, Cristóbal Gómez Santis and Oscar Gómez Velasco, as councilors.

For several weeks, the so-called ejidal authorities have maintained a blockade of the main accesses to Altamirano.
