A Twitter user shared a video from the unfinished venue of the WTA Finals in Cancun, just five days before the debut of Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Coco Gauff, among others.
The top female tennis players of the season are coming together for the year-end tournament, with eight of the top nine ranked players of the year in attendance, following Karolina Muchova’s withdrawal from the French Open Finals. She was replaced by the first alternate, Maria Sakkari.
The WTA Finals are returning to Mexico for the second time, as Guadalajara hosted the tournament in 2021, where Garbiñe Muguruza claimed the title by defeating Anett Kontaveit in the final. However, this time, the tournament is moving to Cancun, where the players are currently fine-tuning the last details before the event begins.
A concerning video has surfaced on social media, showing that the venue is not yet ready, and there is little progress, raising doubts about whether the organizers will have the Facility Fully Prepared for the start of the tournament on October 29th, which runs until November 5th.
