Kelly Piquet sends heartfelt message to Max Verstappen

Kelly Piquet took to social media after the Qatar Grand Prix last weekend to congratulate her boyfriend, Max Verstappen, on his third Drivers’ Championship.

The Brazilian model who has been officially dating the Dutchman since 2021 is often seen in the paddock supporting the Red Bull Driver, with last weekend at the Lusail International Circuit having been no different.

She watched on as the 26-year-old claimed a third consecutive championship, putting him level with the likes of Ayrton Senna, Niki Lauda and Piquet’s father, Nelson Piquet.

Verstappen wrapped up the championship in the Qatar sprint race, which he didn’t even need to finish to be crowned World Champion after Sergio Perez crashed out.

Even if Perez hadn’t crashed out, Verstappen’s P2 finish would’ve secured him the title anyways.

He went onto win Sunday’s race from pole position, further cementing his dominance this season.

Piquet shared a series of photos and clips from Qatar on Instagram, where she revealed how “proud beyond words” she is of her boyfriend.

“What a privilege to witness you claiming not one but THREE WORLD TITLES,” Piquet wrote on Instagram in a post which included several photos of herself and Verstappen.

“What you have achieved is truly spectacular and you keep amazing us.

“I am proud beyond words and hope you enjoy every single moment. Well done team [Red Bull].”

Verstappen and Piquet live together in Monaco with the Brazilian’s daughter Penelope, whose father is ex-F1 driver Daniil Kvyat.

Piquet and Kvyat dated from 2017 to 2019, whilst it was somewhat ironically Verstappen who replaced the Russian driver at Red Bull in 2016.

Verstappen and Piquet are often seen together, as is the Red Bull driver and Penelope, who often makes comical appearances in the reigning World Champion’s Twitch streams.

With both 2023 titles being decided already, Verstappen now has five
races to enjoy himself and to try and break his record for most wins in a season.

His 15 wins in 2022 broke the record for most victories in a single season; however, with five races remaining he’s just one win away from matching his immense record from last season.
