Ferrari’s wait for title glory has certainly been a long one, with it looking no closer to coming to an end.

The Maranello-based side are without a doubt the most famous team in Formula 1, with the Italians having enjoyed endless success at the pinnacle of motorsport.

At least they used to enjoy endless success, with the Ferrari of today seemingly being a ghost of their former selves.

Ferrari’s last world title came back in 2008, when Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen led the Scuderia to the constructors’ championship.

Since then, Ferrari’s trophy cabinet has gotten fairly dusty, after a magnitude of inter-team issues.

Ferrari’s worst enemy since their last title has been themselves, something which was seen in full-effect last year.

2022 was the Scuderia’s best chance since 2012 of claiming a title, with Ferrari having arguably designed the best car on the grid.

A mixture of power unit failures and strategic errors ultimately saw Charles Leclerc fall well short of the title, with Max Verstappen and Red Bull having been imperious.

So much was expected of Ferrari again at the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix, with the Italians having reportedly increased the power of their engine by 30hp during the off-season.

Despite the rumoured super engine, Leclerc retired from third during the race with yet another power unit failure, meaning Ferrari were once again outdone by their themselves.

To highlight Ferrari’s struggles in the last decade, Leclerc was told during an interview with CANAL+ how many victories the Scuderia have claimed in the last 10 years.

Staggeringly, the interviewer told Leclerc that in the last decade, Ferrari have claimed 23 wins, whilst Verstappen alone has claimed 25 in the last two years.

“Do you know how many Grand Prix Verstappen has won over the last two years?” the interviewer asked Leclerc.

“No, but keep the numbers to yourself,” replied Leclerc whilst laughing.

“25 in two years for him, revealed the interviewer.

“Do you know how many Ferrari has won in the last 10 years?” he then asked Leclerc.

“No, but it’s going to hurt,” Leclerc said.

“23,” revealed the interviewer.
